The village of Harrold is about 60 miles north of London in the county of Bedfordshire. It is nine miles north west of the county town of Bedford and is about 15 miles from both Northampton and Milton Keynes. Its population is about 1,300, and expanding.

Harrold is a riverside village with an ancient bridge over the River Great Ouse. It has a long rich history with archaeological finds dating back 4,500 years.

Harrold Lockup and Buttermarket
On the village green, this circular lockup was last used in the 19th century. The Buttermarket dates from the end of the 17th century.

Harrold and Odell Country Park
144 acres on the banks of the Ouse; open country, lake, way-marked walks, ample parking. Contact (01234) 720016. Tea room and visitor centre open seasonal.
