Executive Decisions

Executive Decisions Taken by Portfolio Holders and Officers

This database includes the formal records of all decisions taken by individual Executive Members (often referred to as Portfolio Holders) since the Council’s Executive Arrangements were established in October 2002. The database also includes details of key decisions taken by Council Officers since that date.
 
For each decision taken the database includes the unique reference number, a short description and the name of the decision taker. By using the search facilities you can search the database to find out about decisions that have been taken:

  • On individual issues
  • By individual portfolio holders
  • By Council Officers

When you enter the database, the screen will display all the Executive decisions that have been taken during the current Municipal Year. You can view the decisions taken in a previous year or all decisions taken to date by clicking on the “v” arrow in the left hand box and selecting the year you are interested in, or “All”.
 
Clicking on the middle box will enable you to select one of the following search categories:

  • Short description (ie of the decision)
  • Date of decision (eg if you wanted to look at all decisions made in a particular month/year
  • Name of the decision taker

Once you have selected the time period you wish to search for, and the search category you wish to use, you then need to type into the right hand box, the words you wish to search on. For example, if you want to find out what decisions have been taken on Bedford Town Centre since October 2002 you would enter:

And click on "GO".  A summary of all decisions relating to Bedford Town Centre will then be displayed.

To find out all of the decisions made by an individual portfolio holder, for example the Mayor, you would select the following:

And click on "GO". All of the decisions taken by the Mayor since his election will then be displayed.

Within the database, clicking on the name of the decision taker enables you to find out more information about them, such as the name of their portfolio and their email address. If they are an existing member of the Council there is also a link to their page on the Council’s website which contains further contact details and information about them.
