E Tendering
In line with the Government's initiative for local authorities, the Council is progressing its purchasing administration towards electronic tendering.
The Council acknowledges that savings in administration and paper result from the successful implementation of electronic tenders. To this end, the Council is encouraging suppliers to be in a position to submit tenders electronically as a positive move towards e-government.
The Council is able to permit the downloading of all contract documentation, apart from, in some cases, drawings and when all the technical difficulties have been resolved, will be pleased to receive the tender documentation electronically. For example, there is still a problem with the means of signing tenders electronically as the software available to the Council is not able to guarantee absolute security. Therefore, at present, tenderers will have to submit their tender sheet manually in order that it can be signed in the normal way.
Rest assured the Council is actively working on a solution to the technical problems so that as soon as reasonably practicable all tenders can be submitted electronically. E-Tendering
