Democracy and elections
Freshers Fayre 2008
Welcome to the new Bedford Borough Council democracy webpage.
Freshers Fayre 2008
September and October saw saw the start of freshers week at both the College (10th September) and the University (1st October) here in Bedford. Members of the Democratic Engagement Team went out and set up a stall to promote the message of registering to vote. The Council is currently conducting the annual canvass, and this was a good way of informing students that if they wanted to vote at the next election, nows the time to get registered.
The team also took their own brand of promotion, offering the students a bag of free stuff including pens, notepads, mousemats, mugs, balloons, highlighters and 'democracy' sweets!, with an important message being carried on them all:
Democracy - Make your choice, have a say about your future!
