Bedford Borough Council has placed the Town Centre at the top of its agenda. The Town Centre is the beating heart of the Borough, attracting many visitors, businesses and residents who enjoy and use its facilities. But like all good things it could be better. The Council wants to make it more vibrant and alive so that people want to come back time and time again to Bedford.
The Borough Council is rightly proud of its Town Centre. Compared to many other towns, it is vibrant and vital and getting more so, week by week, because of the actions already taken as part of the "Building a Better Bedford Town Centre initiative".
So far the Borough Council has held two consultation exhibitions, October 2001 and May 2002, in the Town Centre to give everyone the chance to comment on the latest proposals to redevelop and improve the Town Centre area. On display were artist impressions of what Bedford could look like and latest Town Centre plans and schemes.
