Allotments in Bedford
There are currently around 600 allotment plots administered by the Borough Council, located on five sites.
The sites are situated at:
Allen Park, off Old Ford End Road
Goldington Field, off Barkers Lane
Haynes Field, off Barkers Lane
Mile Road
Newnham Avenue.
All sites have water supplies, security fencing and access via keys.
The current cost of renting a plot is £40.85 (full plot) per year, with a reduction for senior citizens, and if you are unemployed (£23.90).
Some smaller plots are available on the Mile Road site for those who might be put off by a full size plot. This may be extended to other sites, subject to demand.
All plots are rotovated free of charge for new tenants, to assist with getting started.
