Allocations and Designations Plan - Sites

The Council’s Allocations & Designations Plan will allocate sites for a variety of purposes to meet needs identified in accordance with the Council’s adopted Core Strategy & Rural Issues Plan. In order to ensure that all possible sites are considered from the outset, landowners, developers and other interested parties are being invited to propose sites for inclusion in the Plan.

However, it is likely that not all the sites that are put forward will be required to meet development needs over the period covered by the Plan. A methodology has therefore been prepared following public consultation, in order to appraise the relative suitability of the expressions of interest and to help inform the identification of preferred development sites for inclusion in the Preferred Option Planwhich is due to be published in 2009. The site assessment methodology that will be used can be downloaded below.

If you wish to propose a site for inclusion in the Plan you must provide the information necessary to enable the site assessment to be made. This should be done using the form available below. You should save a copy of the form to your computer, fill it in and then email it back to bdf@bedford.gov.ukas a WORD document. Expressions of interest should be submitted by 18 August 2008. A list of all the sites that have been put forward will be published later this year. Please note that information provided on all expressions of interest will be publicly available.
