The application forms below are supplied by Planning Services and provide information of when each application form is required.
NEW PLANNING '1 APP' APPLICATION FORMS
The Government introduced new standard planning application forms on the 6th April 2008. Old forms are no longer accepted by the Council. There are 26 new application forms and they are available on this page to view or download or from the planning reception at the Town Hall. If you wish to submit your application online please go to www.planningportal.gov.uk.
To accompany the new application forms, the Government has produced a ‘national list’ of information that will be required to accompany all applications.In addition to the ‘national list’, Local Authorities are encouraged to publish a ‘local list’ to set out what additional supporting information the Local Authority will require for different types of application. For an application to be ‘validated’, the requirements of both the national and local list must be satisfied by the applicant.
The national and local lists will help to provide certainty to the applicant as to the type of information required for an application.
The Local Validation Requirements were consulted upon in early 2008. The requirements were revised in light of the consultation responses and the final local validation requirements were adopted by the Council’s Executive on the 16th June 2008. The requirements will be used for validating planning applications from the 26th June. All applications received on or after the 26th June 2008 will be required to meet both the national and local validation requirements.
The applicants name and address will form part of the Public Register of applications which the Council publishes on the internet.

If you wish to fill in and submit your application form online you need to go to the national planning portal website, please go to
www.planningportal.gov.uk.
To get the latest versions of the Application Forms, please use the web links which take you directly to the PDF though the Planning Portal website.
Please be aware that any Application Forms submitted after 5:15pm on Mondays-Thursdays and 4:45pm on Fridays will not be received by Bedford Borough Council until the following day.

ALGE Template
Some of the above applications require a Biodiversity survey and report. The Local Validation Requirements refer to guidance produced by the Association for Local Government Ecologists (ALGE). The template provides guidance on the circumstances where a survey and assessment will/will not be necessary. The guidance can be downloaded below.
